On June 4, 2026, SEAFDEC/IFRDMD received students from the Department of International Relations, Faculty of Social and Political Sciences, Sriwijaya University, as part of the internship study program activities held at the SEAFDEC/IFRDMD Office in Palembang, South Sumatra, Indonesia.
During the session, three internship students delivered their final presentations as part of the completion of their Independent Internship Program at SEAFDEC/IFRDMD. The presentations provided an opportunity for the students to share their learning outcomes, experiences, and contributions during their internship. Each student presented the achievements of their assigned activities, highlighting aspects related to administration, program development, and fisheries resource management in support of sustainable inland fisheries management in the Southeast Asian region.
On the same occasion, six students also presented their proposed plans for the June–July internship study program at SEAFDEC/IFRDMD. Their presentations covered various topics, including the blue economy, stakeholder collaboration, gender mainstreaming in inland fisheries management, and other contemporary issues related to fisheries and sustainable development.
As part of the orientation program, the students were invited to tour the department’s facilities, meet staff members, and learn about the history, organizational structure, and key functions of SEAFDEC/IFRDMD. This activity aimed to help the students adapt to the working environment and gain a better understanding of the institution.
The session was attended by the Deputy Chief of SEAFDEC/IFRDMD and staff members, and included discussions, feedback, and constructive suggestions. The inputs provided were intended to improve the students’ internship reports and study plans, while also enriching their understanding of fisheries issues, regional cooperation, and international program management.
