Researcher of IFRDMD Took Part on The Activity of SEAFDEC/Training Department

Referring to the 40th Program Committee Meeting (PCM) and Department’s Chief Meeting (DCM) in November and December 2017 that PCM Member and Chiefs of SEAFDEC Departments suggested TD collaborate with IFRDMD and AQD in relevant activities under Training Department activities, on 28 January to 4 February 2018, the researcher from IFRDMD, Dr. Dina Muthmainnah, took part in the activities under Facilitating Fisheries Activity Information Gathering Project through the Introduction of Community-based Resources Management/Co-management in Vientiane, Lao PDR.
Before conducting the study in Nam Xouang Reservoir, Dr. Dina presented the IFRDMD’s activities in 2018 under the project entitled Promotion of Responsible Utilization of Inland Fisheries in Southeast Asia at Training Department Office, Samut Prakan, Thailand on 29 January 2018, attended by Chief, Deputy Chief, and staff of Training Department.
The study was monitored and facilitated by the CBRM/Comanagement at the pilot site in Nam Xouang Reservoir,
Lao PDR. The activities included were training for local government staff to increase knowledge on fisheries management, conducting the workshop for planning unification of fisheries rules and regulations among two (2) districts (Phone Hong and Naxaythong Districts) to finalize the rules and regulations in Nam Xouang Reservoir, discussing and sharing the experiences on CBRM/Co-management project with the researchers from SEAFDEC/IFRDMD, and lastly introducing the project to the intern students from the University of Tokyo, Japan. #Dina_mth
