Deputy Chief of SEAFDEC/IFRDMD Joins Ramadan Iftar Gathering

On 11 March 2026, the Deputy Chief of SEAFDEC/IFRDMD, Mr. Toru Shimoda, joined a Ramadan iftar (breaking of the fast) gathering with staff and retired staff of the Research Institute for Inland Fisheries and Extension (RIIFE), SEAFDEC/IFRDMD personnel, and internship students.

While waiting for the maghrib call to prayer that marks the time to break the fast, several meaningful activities were held. Donations were provided by Bank Syariah Indonesia (BSI), along with contributions collected from employees of RIIFE and SEAFDEC/IFRDMD, which were distributed to support people in need.

The participants also listened to a short religious talk delivered by an Islamic scholar, who shared reflections on the essence of fasting during the holy month of Ramadan and the importance of compassion and solidarity with others.

The gathering created a warm and friendly atmosphere, strengthening the sense of togetherness among staff, interns, and guests while celebrating the spirit of Ramadan.
