Kyushu University Professor Visits SEAFDEC/IFRDMD and RIIFE-MMAF

Prof. Atsuhiko Isobe from Kyushu University, Japan, visited the office of SEAFDEC/IFRDMD and the Research Institute for Inland Fisheries and Extension (RIIFE), Ministry of Marine Affairs and Fisheries (MMAF), on 28 April 2026. The visit was part of his academic activities under the Visiting World Class Professor Program, funded by Universitas Sriwijaya.
Upon arrival, Prof. Isobe was warmly welcomed by Mr. Toru Shimoda, Deputy Chief of SEAFDEC/IFRDMD, and Mr. Rezki Antoni, Head of RIIFE-MMAF. During the visit, he toured the research facilities, laboratories, and inland fisheries display room, where he was introduced to ongoing research activities and institutional programs related to inland fisheries.
The visit is expected to support future scientific discussions and collaboration, particularly on aquatic environmental issues, microplastic contamination, and sustainable fisheries management.
